You will have an amazing visit to Puerto Rico IF you stay with Paul. I can't say enough good things about him and his wonderful hideaway. We didn’t really have things planned out, but top priorities were fun and seeing some of the sights.
First of all, the location is perfect! It's close to Condado and Old San Juan, but nestled in a residential neighborhood within walking distance of some really amazing local restaurants and markets. You can walk to some of the most beautiful beaches in San Juan and Paul knew just where to go.
As for the accommodations, the rooms are immaculate and the brand new queen bed is super comfy. The wifi is super fast and Paul printed out some extra maps to use during our stay and provides us with additional local sight-seeing maps and guides. He hooked us up with his Netflix on his HDTV so we could stay up all night watching Breaking Bad. We were provided with fresh, fluffy linens, extra towels and bathroom amenities. Paul even awakened before us and snuck out to the market to get half and half for my coffee! Little touches that show Paul's commitment to providing you with the very best and catering to your every need and comfort.
He will awaken you with rich, Puerto Rican coffee and homemade breakfast treats then help you plan your day exploring. No request was refused - we asked him to show us around and he graciously gave us the insider's tour of San Juan. I have never experienced such hospitality and charm in a host. Surely we must have taken him away from his design work but he never for a moment made us feel anything less than the most important people in the world. Each day concluded with a wonderful custom rum cocktail that Paul likes to whip up.
He will think of everything you might need during your stay. I hadn't thought to bring sunscreen. Another host may have provided directions to Walgreens, which would be perfectly acceptable, but Paul had a bottle of spray-on sunscreen sitting on the counter before I even realized I was going to need it! He also provides us with shampoo, conditioner and a fabulous coconut body wash.
Ask about his spa treatments! He is so knowledgeable about skin care and gave me a sample of the most amazing skin polishing treatment that he's perfecting- my skin has never been so soft and moisturized. Fabulous!
It was like staying in the home of your very best friend. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with a charming and knowledgeable host who will personalize your visit to Puerto Rico, you simply must stay with Paul. As an added bonus- you will fall madly in love Lady Pugglesworth who is the sweetest, most gentle and laid-back mini hostess. She and Paul make this B&B feel just like home- but better!
